Summary

A browser-based photobooth โ€” pick a filter and frame, strike a pose, and get a shareable strip of photos, no app download or physical booth required.

Problem you're solving

Real photobooths are expensive and location-locked, and existing web photobooth clones were clunky, ad-heavy, or paywalled behind a "pro" tier.

Target user

Friend groups, couples, and party hosts who want a photobooth-style keepsake at a hangout without renting equipment.

Competitors

Physical photobooth rentals, Apple's single-device Photo Booth app, and Instagram/Snapchat filters โ€” none built around a shareable, collaborative strip.

Insight

The magic of a photobooth isn't the hardware โ€” it's the countdown, the strip layout, and doing it with someone else. That experience is fully replicable in a browser tab.

Solution

A web app that captures a sequence of webcam photos, arranges them into a classic vertical strip with themed frames, and lets users download or share it instantly.

Distribution

Shared peer-to-peer as a link ("try this with me") rather than through an app store โ€” grew to 150k+ engagement through word-of-mouth and reposts of the photo strips themselves.

Adapting to user feedback

Users kept requesting more designs than the original set, so a "Special Edition" frame pack shipped after launch โ€” new frames became the main growth lever, ahead of new features.
